Blue Mountains National Park

Let me just rave about the public transportation one more time!! If you know me, you know my qualms with MARTA and ATL traffic so I'm loving how easy it is to get from place to place. We just tapped our cards and a train took us two hours outside of town to a national park...so awesome. Anyway, enough with the rant... we decided to do the Blue Mountains today and loved every second of it. We got to Katoomba, grabbed a quick bite to eat, and then went to the main lookout- Echo Point. This point overlooks the famous Three Sisters (shoutout Palmer and Macy-miss y'all), Mount Solitary, and the Ruined Castle. It was a cool way to see the park for the first time and we also got to see the Police practice their rescues in the park by repelling over the cliffs.

We started the Prince Henry Cliff Walk from Echo Point to Leura Cascades. It was a lush hike along the edge of the cliffs of the park. Parts of it made my legs shake but we were wowed by the cliffs, the birds, the trees, the waterfalls, and the pools.

Worked our appetites up and walked back into town for a late lunch then jumped on the train back into town.

Seeing the three sisters again after 52 years is a major flashback for me. I spent a week in the Blue Mountains with a family trying to get my head straight after nine months in Vietnam. Btw I was impressed with that easy train ride also.
