How are we already done with our first country?? Melbourne was our final city to see in Australia and we had some fun. After almost perfect weather for our first two weeks here, Melbourne greeted us with cold/rainy weather. Unfortunately, our usual way of seeing the city, walking endlessly through gardens and neighborhoods, had to be changed. We braved the storm and walked to a delicious deli that was absolutely packed even in the bad weather. We waited in line and both got some of the best sandwiches we have ever eaten. The deli reminded us a little of the varsity in its decorating.

We decided our time would be best spent in a nice warm museum outside of the cold so we hit the Melbourne museum. While we enjoyed it, I think the average age of humans there was 5 yrs old. Still got to see some cool exhibits on Melbourne and Dinosaurs.

The real treat of the day was getting to connect with some old friends. When I told my parents we were going to Australia and looking for recommendations, I did not think we would have any connections over here. Little did I know that my dad's old neighbor/family friend, John, lives in Melbourne with his wife, daughter, and mother-in-law. Not only did they give us great recs for Australia, but they also hosted us for dinner on Sunday. We had the best meal and enjoyed chatting with them about our lives and all of our lingering Australian questions. I even got to see some old school pics from their wedding of my dad, aunt, and my Nana. It was such a treat and Will and I are so grateful to them for taking us in for the night.

Woke up to no rain so we decided to start our walking tour of the city for day 2. We walked to grab a delicious brunch (seriously we had incredible food while here) and then walked through the Richmond Neighborhood, the Royal Botanic Gardens, and eventually to the site of the Australian Grand Prix. Will was like a kid in a candy store thinking about where the race track was and getting to see the Paddock.

We walked all the way to the bay and then headed back to our hotel to quickly change for our exciting night ahead. As mentioned before, the Women's World Cup is going on across Australia and NZ. Sadly, we don't think we line up with the US team but we did buy tickets to see Germany vs Morocco. We bought "obstructed view seating" that was in the first row behind the goal and it was awesome!!! We got to see everything up close- including many shots by the German team and the Moroccan subs warming up. Will even caught a missed shot on goal!! Although the game ended up being a blowout with Germany winning 6-0, we had a lot of fun.

Sadly, that concludes our time in Melbourne and Australia and we are big fans of this country! Very excited for what's to come...

Fun fun - so glad you made it to a World Cup game - a big deal for Morocco to make it to the WC for the first time! On another note, no explanation for those hats?😀
